We are an upscale boutique and spa that offers full service grooming, bathing and spa services for a primarily affluent clientele that loves to pamper their pooches! Unlike most grooming shops, we only use high quality, all natural products, do not use kennels for drying or containment, and dogs are given the personalized attention that is lacking in other grooming environments. In fact, our model is more like a human hair salon because we work solely by appointment and the dogs are here only during their scheduled time. During their appointment, dogs receive our undivided attention from bathing to hand-drying and finishing. Our clients LOVE that they do not have to leave their furry family members all day, and that we put the extra effort into making sure their dog is treated just like they would treat them. As a result, most schedule far in advance, making it difficult for new clients or those who don't plan ahead to get an appointment for almost one month. We have policies in place to prevent last minute cancellations or no-shows that are a fact of life in other grooming environments, and on the rare occasion when cancellations arise, we always have a waiting list to fill openings. We currently have two excellent groomers who have worked in the "traditional" grooming environment and can tell you that our model is not only best for the dogs - it's also best for the groomers. They work fewer hours without any loss of pay and in some cases, actually make more because most of our clients tip generously. Due to rapid growth in the demand for our services, we are considering several expansion plans that will require us to bring on one or more additional groomers. To qualify for a groomer position in our spa, you must: -Love dogs! We understand that bad days are possible, but as a whole, you must love your job and the fact that you get to spend your days with dogs and other dog lovers. -Have a positive attitude and dedicated work ethic. We will be loyal to you and make sure that you are treated fairly but we expect the same in return. -Great "bedside manner" with both dogs and their owners. Not only do you need to be able to make the dog comfortable, but the owner has to feel 100% secure in leaving the dog in your care. -Have received a certificate of completion from a structured grooming course along with at least 3 years work experience grooming all breeds of dog OR -Have at least 5 years experience grooming all breeds of dog -Be able to demonstrate grooming excellence, especially with such common breeds such as poodles, shih tzus, malteses, yorkies and designer mixed breeds such as maltipoos, labradoodles, etc. -Able to lift 50lbs -Be able to provide excellent work and personal references -Be willing to work flexible hours, including some weekends. -Be drug free, bondable, and capable of passing any required background checks. You will earn 50% of services rendered plus EXCELLENT tips. You will also receive 25% employee discount on services and boutique items for your dogs and commission on boutique sales.
